Primary designs include linear islands from 4 feet to 11 feet in length, L-Shaped islands and U-Shaped Islands. BetterPatio can also help with custom island designs here. We've broken up our categories based on BBQ Islands (with grills), Bar Islands (no grill) and Modular Island Cabinets (add ons to your existing outdoor kitchen.) We prefer L-Shaped Kitchens because of the space and functionality for both cooking and entertaining, but not all home owners have the space. Buyer beware: Big Box retailers will only sell a design with pre-determined color combinations. BetterPatio can order island designs with personalized material combinations.
What materials should we use for our outdoor kitchen?
Materials are dependent on the manufacturer, and mainly consist of stainless steel, stucco, stacked stone, composite and concrete. Your choice of materials may be based on your proximity to water, design preferences, among other factors.
